Guide
What is a high roller?
A high roller is a player who stakes large sums. At a UK online casino the label shows up as VIP schemes, higher table limits and larger withdrawal limits. Casinos treat it unevenly, and the gap between them is wide. Rialto is the table for big hands. Unibet chooses you. 32Red and PlayOJO let you walk in. Read the terms before you move a balance.
Where the term comes from
High roller is the casino's label for a valued customer, not a rank you can claim. Online there is no door to walk through, so the label turns into terms: a personal contact, a table range, a withdrawal ceiling. The casino's own name for it is VIP. On the terms it appears as a level, a lounge or a club. Treat the label as a description of how you play. It is not a status any casino owes you.
What a high roller looks like at a UK online casino
Rialto leads on tables, PlayOJO and Rialto lead on personal service, and three casinos skip VIP entirely. Every casino on this site holds a Gambling Commission licence.
Rialto Casino's live roulette runs to £75,000 a spin and its live blackjack to £10,000, the highest table limits here. PlayOJO's live tables run from £5 to £5,000. Grosvenor Casinos has live tables up to £5,000, and 888casino's exclusive live tables go to £3,000.
On VIP, 32Red runs The Ruby Lounge, Unibet the Reward Zone and Genting Casino My Levels. Rialto pays Rialto Coins on real-money play, credited next day, and gives players an account manager. PlayOJO's Club OJO adds an A-list Manager by private invitation. Videoslots, Mr Vegas and 888casino run no VIP scheme.
The only withdrawal limits you can quote are minimums: £20 at Videoslots and Mr Vegas (bank wire excluded at Mr Vegas), £5 at 32Red and Unibet, and £0 at PlayOJO. They say nothing about large sums.
What changes when you stake more
A bonus caps your stake. The maximum bet at Genting Casino is 10% (min £0.10) of the free spin winnings and bonus, or £5, whichever is lower. At Videoslots and Mr Vegas it is 50% of the bonus amount or £20, whichever is lower. At 32Red and Unibet it is £15 a spin on slots while bonus funds are in play. If the cap cuts across how you play, pass on the offer.
No casino here sets a maximum withdrawal in the terms we checked, so there is no cap figure to quote. Identity checks are stated at every casino here.
Case Officer steps before a large withdrawal: keep your identity documents current, ask support in writing for the cap on your account and the documents it wants, and keep the reply.
Is a VIP scheme the same thing
No. Staking large sums does not put you in a scheme, and a scheme level does not mean large stakes. Schemes reward volume over time. Unibet gives 1 point per £15 staked on slots, £30 on live casino and £20 on RNG table games, and its Gold level starts at 1,000 points. For how each scheme works, read our guide to casino VIP programmes.
Safer gambling at high stakes
Set your limits before you play. Deposit, loss and time limits go in first. It takes a minute in your account settings, and the casinos here offer deposit limits and self-exclusion. A VIP manager or a bonus is never a reason to raise a limit.
Gamstop blocks you from every gambling site and app licensed in Great Britain at once. Use it if you need to step away.
If gambling stops being under your control, call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 (England and Scotland) or the NHS Wales Helpline on 0808 2819 265 (Wales). GambleAware also offers help. You must be 18 to play.
Questions
How much does a high roller bet?
There is no set figure. The game and the casino decide what you can stake, and live table ranges run from a few pounds to tens of thousands. Treat a table limit as the casino's ceiling, never as a target. Your own limit, set before you play, is the one that counts.
Do UK casinos treat high rollers differently?
Unevenly. Some casinos reward play with levels, some add a personal contact, and some run nothing for any stake. Identity checks and your own limits stay in place at every level. Ask your manager what the scheme offers at your level before you accept anything.
Is high roller the same as VIP?
No. One describes how you play, the other is a casino's programme with its own entry route. You can stake large sums where no scheme exists, and you can hold a level on modest play. Judge a casino on its terms, not on the word VIP.
If you think we are wrong
Our team tests and checks every fact on this page. If a casino changes a term, or a figure here is wrong, the team reads the casino's own page again, corrects this page and updates the date at the top. Our how we rate page sets out how we check facts. Write to info@ukhighrollers.co.uk.
